Seattle City Light’s Boundary Hydroelectric Project

FERC Relicensing

Seattle City Light is in the process of obtaining a new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license for the Boundary Hydroelectric Project under the Integrated License Process. CRC has provided strategic cultural resources consulting for the relicensing effort.

CRC is an active member of the relicensing resource team for this project. In this capacity CRC has developed a series of planning documents, including a cultural resources overview, a GIS-based archaeological predictive model, the cultural resources Study Plan, the cultural resources component of the FERC license pre-application document, and the cultural resources components of the Preliminary Licensing Proposal. CRC will also prepare the Historic Properties Management Plan. CRC has actively participated in the Cultural Resources Work Group for the Project, regularly interacting with representatives from the US Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the State Historic Preservation Office, FERC, affected tribes, and other stakeholders.

CRC continues to provide Seattle City Light with CRM expertise as the relicensing effort moves forward.
