The Watershed Company, on behalf of the Port of Seattle, requested that CRC complete a cultural resources overview prior to ground disturbing activities associated with the proposed redevelopment of Fishermen’s Terminal in the industrial Interbay neighborhood of Seattle. Background research did not result in the identification of previously recorded precontact archaeology within the project location. Four historic commercial structures were recorded within the project location. These resources were documented and evaluated for historic register eligibility following local, state, and national criteria. Based on CRC’s review, three structures were significant on the local level. Recommendations for the mitigation of adverse impacts to these properties were presented and location specific archaeological monitoring was recommended.
